Application of VAWT:
The carbon fiber VAWT produced by Jiangsu Aosheng Wind Power Co.Ltd. is applied in windy urban network system,mainly in the high skyscrapers and generating power for high-storey building,supplying green energy to the whole building and the users. VAWT has its unique advantages, when integrated in building design; its advantages will be more evident as shown below:
With its lift-dragging and complementary design, VAWT has good startup performance which is around 2~3m/s.
Mainly used lift-typed blades and it’s theoretical wind energy utilization factor is comparatively higher.
The direction of VAWT does not need to be adjusted and its wind supply ability is high.
VAWT does not need direction-adjustable device, so no additional yaw tail is needed which eventually reduces the production cost.
The rotation effect of VAWT is small. Statically, due to the effective flow of wind exposure, the lateral force is smaller and so is more suitable to be built at the top of the buildings.
Every wind blades of VAWT is supported by 2 supporting wind blades where it significantly reduces the wind load bending stress generated in strong wind, the application of carbon fiber also reduces the bending stress produced by the centrifugal force.
The speed of VAWT is slower and so the aerodynamic noise generated is smaller or equal to 45dB that makes it more suitable to be integrated in building design.
VAWT can reduce the collision of the birds not seeing its blade and being killed. With its lower tip speed and visually more gentle design, this actually ruled out the threat to birds.
Since the majority of the components are placed on the ground, workers can reach every component without the need of climbing up to the tower operator, this is a much more convenient approach, and thus reduces the maintenance costs of generators, brake systems and controllers.
Integrated with building design, VAWT is more attractive and easily integrated architecturally.
